A walk through fields around the pleasant village of Simister.
You may have heard of 'Simister Island' which is the name given to the Junction 18 interchange of the M60, M62 and M66 motorways in Greater Manchester.
However, tucked away on a nearby hillside is the peaceful village which gives the interchange its name.
The village has a couple of good pubs and a bonus point will be given if you can tell me the reason for the highly unusual name of the pub at the end of Simister Lane!
The cache involves a round trip of about 1.4 miles.
Park in front of the Church and head down the lane to the end then turn left past some cottages before arriving at a kissing gate. You then need to head for the top right corner of the large field to find a stile at the end of the hedge next to a small stream. Cross this and you should be able to work the route out from there. Do not go near the farm buildings - you will only get the dogs excited!
