The Colors of the Rainbow caches are inspired by Fergie Le Frog, who hid a series of caches with this theme in Titusville Florida. We have added a meaning of our own to this series. We all know that rainbows can be quite majestic. So when you find a color of the rainbow, shouldn’t the views from the cache be equally majestic? Each cache in the series offers views that are among the best anywhere in Thousand Oaks, so bring a camera and take it all in. The seventh cache in the series is the Pot of Gold. In order to find the Pot of Gold, you must find all six colors of the rainbow first, because each color cache contains clues to the coordinates of the Pot of Gold. Only when you have found all six colors will you have the complete coordinates to the Pot of Gold.
The cache container is a camouflaged nut jar. Park at N 34° 13.650, W 118° 53.620. If you haven't found our Conejo View Cache yet, you can pick it up along the way to this cache. After you reach the top of the hill head downhill 100 feet or so. There is a small trail that heads off to your right. That it to the ridgeline and hie along the ridgeline to get to the cache. There are some awesome views of the Conejo Valley from the ridgeline. Do not bushwhack. Bring lots of water, sunscreen and always use caution when reaching into bushes and under rocks.
