Widgeon Falls is a great destination for those who like moderate hiking in the shade and a collection of pools and rushing cold water to soak in. There are lots of nice flat rocks to lie on in the creek.
The cache is located near the Lower Falls.
You have two choices to get to the general cache area. You can hike from Port Coquitlam's northside, or you can paddle from Pitt Lake up Widgeon Creek to the campground at 49:22.546 / -122:38.547, and then hike the balance.
The paddle is about 1.25 hours, and the hike is about 1 hour. (EACH WAY) Allow enough time to enjoy the area, and bring suitable hiking footwear and water.
To get to the cache area, I have updated this description from a relatively recent log, as the original location long ago changed a bit. The cache is actually located directly at the main path in a tree stump which is very easy to find - just look at the last hint picture. The approximate coords of the cache are N 49°23.877', W 122°38.238' (just a general area where to look for the stump, not the exact measurements at the cache).:
The original cache was a small 300 ml lock & lock container.
