Geocache Description:

National Museum of Funeral History

Any day above ground . . .  is a good one!

A visit to this unusual museum will be a visit to the end of the line.  The National Museum of Funeral History opened its doors on the evening of October 18, 1992. The Museum was founded by Mr. Robert L. Waltrip after 25 years of dreaming of an institution that would educate the public and preserve the rich heritage of the funeral industry.

The National Museum of Funeral History Features Artifacts from throughout the United States and the World. The Museum is the home of rare artifacts and interesting historical information about one of our most important cultural rituals.  Exhibits range from the History of Embalming to Funerals of the Famous.

It is not necessary to enter the museum to log this cache, but it is a unique place and if time and finances permit (although the museum is a non-profit organization, there is an admission charge), a visit is certainly worthwhile.

In order to confirm your funereal find please e-mail us the following information:  To whom is the courtyard dedicated?  Do not post this information, encrypted or otherwise, in your cache log.

Please do not log your find until e-mail with the requested proof of visit has been sent. Logs without corresponding e-mail will be deleted without further warning.
