Geocache Description:

Nice cache for a canoe or kayak, but is accessible by foot if you don't mind getting your feet wet.

This is a really pretty spot. Saw lots of wildlife hiding it; turtles, a great egret, a great blue heron, a black-crowned night-heron, and a great horned owl. Also the normal spiders and really cool ebony jewelwing dragonflies (helps if you have an Audobon Field Guide to New England). You can park at 42º 06.086 N and 70º 49.460 W to launch your kayak or canoe or start your hike.

If kayaking or canoeing, it is worth going further upstream (may have to walk boat due to shallow conditions) for more nice sight-seeing.

If hiking you will have to ford the stream (it is fairly shallow, below knee level) and accessible from both sides. Not really sure which side is best.

****NOTE: This cache can be difficult to get to after heavy rains due to flooding. If you're hiking/wading, wait a day or two. If you're kayaking or canoeing, it's still possible to get to it, but it is definitely more adventurous!****
