Virtual cache on the rim of Capulin Volcano in New Mexico.
This virtual cache is on the rim of Capulin Volcano in Capulin Volcano National Monument in northern New Mexico. It requires a hike to the highest point on the crater. The views are well worth the climb. Although the trail is paved it sometimes can be quite steep, thus the 3 rating on terrain.
At the highest point of the rim if you face east you will see large mesa. This is Black Mesa in Oklahoma. It is the highest point in Oklahoma. The distance from where you are standing is 55 miles! At one time there were signs describing all of this but the Park Service has removed them.
In order to claim this cache as a find, please post a photo of yourself on the summit (not at the entry sign) with your GPS. I know you will enjoy the views!!!
