A pleasant walk along the towpath of Sankey Brook which has been extensively renovated. Parking is at the Peace Centre dedicated to the memory of Jonathan Ball and Tim Parry. (N53º 23.385 W 2º 37.270). There are closer places to park but going this way you will pass the childrens areas and lots of places for older ones to sit, rest and enjoy the wildlife and scenery. Just over 1 mile walk from the car park.
Until recently a life sized, eerie statue of the ghost of the white lady otherwise known as Lady Isabella Butler stood at this site. Unbelieveably, she was stolen! You can, however, still clearly see the concrete base where her statue stood.
