Rugg Pond is a beautiful nature area on the Rapid River,
probably little known other than to those who live nearby. The pond
is leftover from a small hydroelectric project created at the
junction of two branches of the Rapid River. When I have visited, I
have enjoyed the wonderful sounds and sights of the water cascading
from the impoundment. Beyond that are the serenity of the setting,
the nice walk along the lakeshore, and the evident love of those
who have tried to preserve this spot.
