Rookie Point Traditional Cache
stringwalker: A fire went through the area in 2006. Burned up the cache and will not put a new one back because the hike now is not too pretty because of the fire.

This site used to be a firelookout in the 1940's. Due to the "hippie occupation" the lookout was burned down in the 60's. A good but steep hike with an awsome view of Yankee Fork
Turn off hwy 75 at Sunbeam dam then drive apox. 8 miles to the gost town of Bonanza. Turn left and drive up steep hill and turn right on next dirt road. (this can be driven by any high clearance veh.) Go aprox .8 mile, you will pass a small meadow then the road will start downhill. STAY ON TOP! DO NOT GO DOWN HILL. Start hiking to the lookout from this point. Apox .3 mile to lookout. Enjoy the view!
