Geocache Description:


This is a cache designed to attract people to the Clearwater Nature Center and nearby Louise F. Cosca State Park.

The Clearwater Nature Center provides an excellent opportunity for kids of all ages to learn a little bit more about Mother Nature and how she works. I remember visiting the center as a child and really enjoyed it so I decided to set this cache up to draw attention to the center so that others might enjoy it as well.

The cache is located within easy walking distance from the trail. One trailhead is located at N38 44.022 W076 55.060 and is right next to a parking lot. It is a moderate hike around the loop to the cache site.

The cache is a clear plastic container about a gallon in size with a green lid . It is well hidden and please rehide it well because it is in a high traffic area even though no one maybe around when you are there.

The hours of the Nature Center are:
Mon-Sat 8:30am - 5:00pm
Sun&Hol 11:00am - 4:00pm
The gate to the parking area closes around dusk.

Note: If you take a Travel Bug from this cache (an item with a numbered metal I.D. Tag), please remember to log that you have it and place in another cache as soon as possible. Travel Bugs may be cute but they are not to be kept. They are meant to continue on their journey from geocache to geocache.
