Geocache Description:

A chance to explore another of Brampton's parks. This is a much smaller park that most people don't see very much of.

What is now the city of Brampton has at one time or another been home to a number of sand and gravel extraction operations. This park used to be one of them. This is the first of several caches I have planned for former gravel pits, showing how rehabilitation has improved over the years. This one is probably the worst of the parks, but nature tends to fix things up as soon as people get out of the way. If you wander up the trail to the north, there's a boardwalk overlooking a spot where some beavers have built a dam. You can also see a beaver lodge on the shore of the main lake opposite from where the cache is hidden. I suggest approaching this cache either from the north, or south. Anyone attempting to approach from the east or west will probably regret that decision. Also, the terrain is much tougher than the rating indicates for the last few feet to the cache. Small children may have to be watched around the cache site. The ammo can cache container has been replaced with a tupperware container after the container was stolen.
