The 10 digits of the coordinates are taped to the underside of
the lid of each the letterboxes and inside each 35mm.
Letterboxes are similar to Geocaches, except no coordinates are
given, only clues. The COMPLETE REVISED CLUES that you need to find
the 9 waypoint caches and the remaning letterbox ARE ON THIS WEB
PAGE:CLUES
(More information on letterboxing can be found here.)
Park at the coordinates above for the Letterboxing part of the
journey. You will walk almost 2 miles in a large loop along a
mostly shaded, easy pathway. The letterboxes are all easy to find
with the clues given, but bring a walking stick, as a couple of
them are buried in leaves or dry grass, and you'll want to poke
around or them. Also wear long pants, as there is some poison oak
around.
Letterboxes have no trade items, so save yours for the Geocache.
If you like, bring a personal rubber stamp and pad, for you'll find
a handmade stamp in each letterbox for you to stamp your own
letterbox logbook, and you can stamp your's in the box's log. You
can also just sign the log.
Don't forget to write down the digit in the lid or from the
waypoint paper!
It took me over 3.5 hours to place the cache and hide the clues
in the letterboxes today, and you may want to allow as much time to
complete this quest. Bring plenty of water and maybe even a snack
or lunch. I hope you enjoy finding this as much as I enjoyed
placing it.
Many thanks to the Gnosis 4-H club for their wonderful series of
Letterboxes!
