in our disclaimer.
East parking is now closed. The trail to the cache from the current
(2010) 'Pay and Display' parking lot is now approx 3 km each way.
No bushwacking.
The Long Sault Conservation has a second, smaller conservation area
a very short distance east of the main area. The trail entrance is
amongst mixed evergreen forest and vines (great wreath materials)
but the central and northern section is mature hardwoods with very
sparce underbrush. The cache is in this area and the heavy canopy
makes for poor GPS signal. The cache is a clear gallon jar (no
pickled eggs), approximately 10 feet off the trail.
We did the double loop trail in approx 90 min on a very hot day.
Unfortunately the only water is a muddy deer watering hole near the
old parking lot. You probably won't see it but you'll have to wipe
your pooch's feet before she jumps back into your vehicle.
As well as the usual trade goods we have included a geocoin
(#1017) and a travel bug (Alberta Beef). The geocoin and travel bug
are now in transit again. Congragulations to Dirtrunner on such a
quick first find.
