Buxton - Red's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache is quite easy, just off the lane that it was placed by. Dont cross any fences, and place back as found as the cache is supposed to be under a rock that doesn't belong.
One of my favorite movie's has what I consider, THE FIRST GEOCACHE. Here is a re-enactment of that cache.
Andy: Red if you ever get out find this spot near Buxton, a Cache is hidden there that I want you to have.
Red: I will. What's in it?
Andy: Just promise me.
Red: O.K.! I'll find it!
Andy: Maybe you could come visit me? You do remember where I'll Be, dont you!
Red: Yes.
This Cache is located as close to the remains of Buxton, Iowa as public land would allow. Buxton, Iowa was a short lived coal mining town in south central Iowa. It had a population of approx. 6000 people at its peak, from about 1880-1930. It had never been incorporated, so almost no signs of the town remain. When the coal mine moved to Illinois the town just disappeared. When I started researching this site for a cache the similarities in the description were uncanny.
While trying to place this cache we were turned back by a violent thunder storm on the first attempt. The second attempt we wound-up having major car trouble. Its been a costly cache to place so I hope you enjoy finding it as much as I enjoyed placing it. I've never heard it refered to as a Ghost-Town: but we sure had some experiences placing it.
