Summer isn't really endless and a last Jeep trip with my bud Trumpetman brings it to our traditional close. This ridge towers above at least five high Sierra lakes with two mountain tops close enough to reach out and grab. The moon was either half empty or half full when we placed the cache and we could feel the beginnings of fall.
The site is just off a 4WD road and near the PC trail, Street cars can carefully make their way to the "A-Tree." From there, hike on either the PC trail or the dirt road. Hikers can also approach from Wades Lake. I can't imagine finding, or wanting to find this cache in winter or nasty weather. The cache will seem obvious to you when you get there even though it is completely hidden. This cache is a bit of a challenge to get to but you will be well rewarded. If you are the first to find the cash this year take Hanafuda card. photo graph the front, and post the image and e-mail me the jpeg to receive a very cool Japanese prize representing my other life in Tokyo. If you find the site after the card is gone you will have to settle for one of the most dramatic views in the area and a great day in the mountains. There is no room for exchanges in the little Tupperware cache. Be sure to bring lots of water, snacks, a topo, and a camera. I have even flown kites from here. Recommend a ride home on the Eureka Ridge Road. Originally placed 8/7/03 3:00 PM
8/10/14 End of Summer Cache Restored. Susan, Mei & Allegro took the trip this afternoon without our buddy Trumpetman. Thunderstruck just as we arrived which must have been a sign though we aren't sure of what. We left some of of Allegro's hanafuda cards and Trumpetman's trumpets with other toys from Japan. 11 years we took this ride together. We miss you.
