Geocache Description:

Handicap Accessible "Cache and Dash". Bring your own pen or pencil. Site is next to a busy highway. Parking is available on the cache side of the street. Please close the latch when you're finished with it so that the contents stay dry.

The cache contains souvenir cards depicting the nearby bridge designed by Conde B. McCollough, Oregon's Master Bridge Builder. (visit link)

To hunt this cache stay on the street side of the fence. Take a card if you wish, leave one if you have one; nothing else will fit. Let us know when the card supply runs low.

This area is called River View Plaza, a section of Oregon City's waterfront redevelopment. There are plaques with info about local history, including information about the Oregon Territory Gold coins (Beaver Coins) that used to be minted near this site.

From here you can take a walk along the waterfront, see the river traffic, and get a good view of the Willamette Falls Locks. Across the river is the oldest paper mill in operation in the United States.

There are 2 fence gates nearby that let you access the cliff area. Be careful if you walk on the cliffs, someone recently (March 2010) fell from there and drowned in the river.
