Somewhere along a ridge over looking a valley there lies a cache waiting to be found.
"Wake Up and Smell The Coffee". This is your starting point.
N-21 18 599, W-157 48 636 have a cup of coffee on us. After your java, drive 1.1 miles "Head For The Hills" and the trailhead. Go between two cementaries being careful not to "wake the dead" and follow the bus route to the top. Park on the street.
N-21 19 253, W-157 47 928 takes you to the trailhead with a sign that reads Kolowalu and PU'U Pia Trail Access.
N-21 19 335, W-157 47 928 takes you to a picnic table after a short five minute walk. As you stand facing the table look to your right and begin your climb to adventure. Total time to me is around 45 minutes.
N-21 19 270 W-157 47 506 ALT: 1185FT is your mid-way reading. About 22 minutes into the hike. You're doing great!
N-21 19 368, W-157 47 397 ALT 1550FT Turn around and take a "peak" at Diamond Head - Wow!
N-21 19 383, W 157 47 294 is a MAJOR trail interesection. Not long now. Keep going a short distance and enjoy the view of the valley.
NOTE: Your GPS will go in and out but enter the information into it BEFORE you begin and you should have no problems.
