Geocache Description:

This is an educational multi-cache which won't require much sweating. Get ready to learn about some history and to swat a few mosquitoes at the end of your tour. The cache is a rather large rubbermaid container painted green and is full of really cool stuff. Be prepared to spend about 45 minutes to an hour to complete this cache, give or take a little depending on how much you like to sight-see and explore.

Begin by going to the first set of co-ordinates given. From there you will find clues to help you proceed to the next set of incomplete co-ordinates. Please enjoy the scenery along the way. Below are the hints to help you complete the co-ordinates needed to end up at the end of your tour. Step 1: Welcome! Go to the original set of co-ordinates given. Here you will find the information you need to complete your next step. Take a minute to drive around the beautiful historic district south and west of you. STEP 2: We're famous! THE CO-ORDINATES N 30' 13.A18 W 92' 22.62B THE CLUES How many "S"'s are on the English side? Subtract 2 and replace "A" with your answer. If A=1 and B=2 and C=3 and so on, replace "B" with the corresponding number of the second letter in our twin city's country. STEP 3: Days gone by... THE CO-ORDINATES N 30' 12.8AA W 92' BB.110 THE CLUES Grab a calculator! Add each individual number in the year when Crowley began building its commercial area. Write that total here... ___ Now add each individual number in the year that closed the commemoration period of Crowley's commercial area. Add this total to the previous total. Subtract 4 from the sum. Replace "AA" with your answer. Add each number of Crowley's founding date and subtract one. Replace "BB" with the total. STEP 4: Who Done It? THE CO-ORDINATES N 30' 12.8A0 W 92' 22.40B THE CLUES How old was W.W. Duson when he died? Replace "A" with the second number of his age. The dedicators of this memorial were a little late with erecting their monument if they intended on dedicating it exactly 50 years after Crowley's foundation. How many months late were they? Replace "BB" with your answer. STEP 5: Take a ride through the countryside! THE CO-ORDINATES N 30' 07.A00 W 92' 2B.817 THE CLUES A two-word phrase is written twice in the inscription. Add up the letters in the phrase and divide by two. Replace "A" with your answer. Replace "B" with the 4th number in the year of Acadia Parish's Centennial Commemoration. Hope you enjoyed your historical tour of the Rice Capital of America! Please e-mail us if there are problems finding the co-ordinates. This is our first multi-cache to do, so helpful hints are welcomed! Thanks.
