The cache is located at an old limestone quarry that is now a park. The material being quarried was the Minnekahta limestone. This limestone is valued because of its purity which is perfect for making cement and concrete. The Minnekahta formation was deposited in Permian time. It is thought that the sea in which it was deposited was so salty that few animals could live in it. That is why it is very rare to find fossils in this rock today. The cache is a gladware container hidden under a limstone boulder.
