About the Location
This is a wooded area, crisscrossed with dirt paths. Please be careful not to trample the plants more than necessary. There is parking nearby on Providence Avenue to the south or you can park in the lot for Hubbard Park to the north. The cache will be findable with some snow on the ground.
About the Container
You are looking for a plastic container with camouflage tape and a green lid. There is room for trade items and travel bugs. Please bring your own pen.
History
This cache was originally published as "The Shorewood Pez Cache" on August 12, 2003, which was three years after the game of geocaching started. The original owner was Pezzer. There weren't as many geocaches at that time. He only found seven over his whole geocaching career. His original intention was to exchange Pez dispensers in the container, but that became impractical as geocaching gained popularity.
Here is a list of all the players who have cared for the geocache, including the years they took ownership.
- Pezzer (2003)
- beezers958 (2010)
- Blue Crow Expedition (2015)
- Fogie_Knight (2024)
This part of the greenway has changed a lot over the decades. The geocache has been hidden in at least four locations around this immediate area.
