Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Puyallup Community Gardens.

I lived up the street from one of the most generous men alive. Mr. Brown was a legend around our neighborhood. As a small girl selling Campfire mints, I knew that I would make a sale with Mr. Brown. Halloween was my favorite holiday because of Mr. Brown. He would individually wrap bags of candy for us and put our names on the bags. Also, he was always around before and after school to make sure that we safely made it where we were going.

Upon his death, he donated all of his land to the City of Puyallup to be used for a cemetary, park, or something for families to use. For many years the land sat empty until the City of Puyallup decided to make it a community garden. You can go there to grow your own plants. You can pick blackberries, plums, or apples that grow there, or have a nice walk through the garden.

Very few people know of this wonderful donation (unless they read the very tiny plaque at the North end of the park.) As you explore the gardens, remember that one person can make a difference. Thank you Mr. Brown for making a difference in my life.

The Puyallup Community Gardens is open from dawn until dusk and parking is best on the South side of the park where there is a parking lot.
