Welcome to the oldest geocache in St. Martin placed by Fred Langa in 2003. Note that this geocache is a Terrain 5 as you must find a way to get to Green Key. Cachers have gotten to the island by boat, jetski, and swimming. All logs that do not have proof that you went to the island will be deleted.
The original requirements were to land on the island and then “Find the foundation ruins of a stone building and post a photo of yourself standing on the stonework." This is still the preferred method.
More recently, the St. Martin Nature Reserve has started putting up “No Trespassing” signs on the beach during the nesting season of certain shorebirds. In the event that the “No Trespassing” signs are up when you visit, do not land on the island. Instead, you may submit a picture of yourself or your geocaching name from your boat with the stone ruins in the background BUT the picture must be taken close to the island (within 300 meters or 1000 feet). Pictures taken from Orient Beach will not be accepted and the log will be deleted.
