Easy find but you must leave I-94.
In the aftermath of the Sioux Uprising of 1862, the US sent troops out of Minnesota under the command of General Sibley in pursuit of the attackers. It was on this site that he and his command passed. For a wonderfully well-written lesson regarding this episode of American History I recommend picking up Duane P Schultz's book, Over the Earth I Come.
