This
geocache is placed in the
Jordan Lake Educational State
Forest. This is a standard ammo can geocache
container hidden in a fairly orthodox manner. You will enjoy
the visit to the area. It is family friendly. The cache is
off the Forest Demonstration trail. Follow the trail until
you have to bushwack about 375 feet. It is hidden low. Park
in the area beyond the Huey helicopter
The cache
is full of Forest Resources goodies. The area has some debris
from the recent high water of Lake Jordan so it is an excellent
CITO opportunity. The park hours are 8 am to 5 pm weekdays and 11
am to 8 pm on weekends during daylight savings. November through
March weekend hours will be 11 to 5 and the weekday hours will
continue to be 9 am to 5 pm.
The North
Carolina
Div. of Forest Resources
local personnel
are aware of this cache and are excited about having several in
this nearby State Forest. They supplied most of the goodies. Please
respect the resource and the area. It was indeed a pleasure to have
the support of this important state agency in placing this
cache.
