Great hike! Final cache is at 5433ft. Awesome views, nice wild flowers & berries in the right season. $5 day parking pass or a NW Forest Pass is required... or park down the road a ways and walk.
Theres new beginning and end containers with new cool stuff... like a 2bugs coin and some shineys...
This is a 3 stage multi cache. Its pretty easy other than the hike... I SUGGEST you turn onto Civil road off of Hwy 20 (its where the sno-park permit area starts) and drive a little over 2 miles or so to the upper parking lot (where there is a bathroom) and park there. BUT you can also park in the parking area on Deer Cr. Rd. off Hwy 20, or you can park at the pass, and hike the Cone Peak-Iron Mt Loop and go clockwise.
The first cache stage is near the upper parking lot off of Civil Road. The first container is an 2 x 3 x 1 tin.
This is one of my favorite hikes. It is rather strenuous, take water and maybe a lunch. Be very careful at the final cache site. Its quite a ways down. Watch your dogs and children carefully. Good Luck!
