Geocache Description:

To Whom, by whom, and when is what I want to know.
Email me with the answers, but go ahead and post your find.

Looking for Spooners Mesa, I passed a stage stop, a wood pecker tree, and some odd bunkers, and this historical marker just in the middle of nowhere.
Just by reading it, you can tell who settled here, and why, and more or less what time span. If they were established here by this date, but still interested in this particular person.

I really wish I could find my copy of Hardscrabble. It is a delightful autobiography of a woman who grew up on a homestead near here. These were the last of the homesteaders, a tough breed.
