Books 'n Bugs Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ThumbBody: I checked on the cache today and found, as expected, that it was missing--ammo box and all. It appears obvious that Delaware Park is not a good place for this cache so I'm archiving it. Surely those who stole the cache and/or removed things from it that should not have been removed will ultimately get their just rewards. Thanks to all who contributed books and/or bugs to the cache over its lifespan.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The cache is located in Delaware park. The park is open year round to hiking, but the parking area closest to the lake is closed in the winter. The terrain near the cache is steep so please use caution when searching. There is the beginning of a deer trail that will take you near the cache without undue bushwhacking located at N 43 36.870 W082 35.861 If it looks like a steep climb is going to be necessary to reach the cache, you might try this trail first.

NOTICE: The cache was vandalized on or about April 1, 2005. On May 9, 2005 it was RESTOCKED and MOVED about 225 feet on a bearing of 284 degrees. Go to the posted coordinates, stop for a while and enjoy the view, then proceed from there.

As the name suggests, this is a theme cache--books and travel bugs--so PLEASE restrict what you leave to either books or bugs. The cache is a large ammo box and can hold a number of hardcover, trade paper, and mass market paperback size books. The books initially in the cache all had Book Crossing ID numbers and it would be nice (but not required) if the ones you leave are also registered with Book Crossing.

If you find the cache and do not have any books or bugs to place in it, please FEEL FREE TO TAKE A BOOK if you find one that interests you--as long as you leave something for the next finder. And, please indicate in your log and drop me an email if the book supply is getting low.

(See www.bookcrossing.com for details on logging found books and registering your own books to set free. Book Crossing and travel bugs just sorta belong together.)

It currently (5/9/2005) contains The Last Heros by W.E.B. Griffin; A Woman's Place by Barbara Delinsky; Omerta by Mario Puzo; Her Father's House by Belva Plain; and Some Can Whistle by Larry McMurtry.
