Fredericksburg’s Hurkamp Park Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

SilentBob: I wasn't aware that geocaching had become so hostile in the few years that I've been away. It's a shame that some people are just too rude. This had been one of the oldest caches in the immediate Fredericksburg area, but alas, it's finally gone.

I finally found some time to go visit this one this past weekend, and saw that the final location was gone.

Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of micro caches placed around Fredericksburg, VA. They are all in 35mm film containers and contain a small log. Bring a pen of your own to make sure you have something to write with.

Hurkamp Park is right in the heart of Old Town Fredericksburg. The park’s main feature is a water fountain, which has become the areas "wishing well". On weekends and weekday mornings, local vendors sell their fruits and vegetables.

This particular micro contains a clue needed to solve the Pratt Park Adventure cache. Don’t forget to write down the clue before you leave!

Unfortunately, this micro has been lost twice. Fortunately, I have replaced it in a better location. The given coordinates lead to a sign, that will give you clues to the final micro-cache, less than half a mile away. The biggest challenge should be finding an entrance...

The micro's coordinates are as follows:

38 1A.GDB' N
77 2C.EHF' W

The sign(s) in Hurkamp Park yields the following info:
Burials stopped here in the year 1AB3.
The park was dedicated on July 12, 18CH.
Mr. Hurkamp resided at DE6 Hanover St. until his death.
The Confederate Cemetary was dedicated in the year 187G.
The American Masonic Cemetary's earliest tombstone has a year of 18F6 on it.

The final micro cache is in a highly visible area. Be discreet when retrieving/replacing the cache so you are not noticed and give away it's location to non players. Sign and date the log, there is nothing else in the container. It is too small to leave anything.

And for those of you who found the orginal, feel free to find the new one too! (But please don't log another find)
