At its heart is St Peter's C of E church. The whole place is quiet, secluded and
immaculate. We would wholly recommend the family atmosphere of the local 'Kings
Arms' public house with its two aviaries in the beer garden - one of which contains
'Spook', a European Eagle Owl. This was, actually the reason for making this a
short 'cache and dash' as we wanted to sample the dinner menu !
The church itself contains a fantastic 'square box' organ which was only donated
back in 1974. It is worth popping in for a couple of seconds of shade/warmth
as the route to the cache will take you along the public footpath that runs
through the churchyard.
Also..... Monkton Farleigh sits on top of a very large underground complex
of Tunnels and storage that started as a quarry, it was built to house vast
amounts of ammunition during the World War II / Cold war. Don't underestimate
the size of the place as it is huge. It is now partly owned by Wansdyke security.

You certainly would never guess this from the surface !!!
We have not published any parking coordinates for this cache as it is not too
difficult to find a space on the one road through the village.
The cache is hidden in an ammo box (not intended to be ironic given the above).
