Grande Prairie Waystation Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Alan Handfield: I started this cache long ago when Grande Prairie had few spots to find caches at. Now the sport has spread across the city and I would consider this cache to be low quality. Thank-you to everyone that found it in the past, I hope you had fun.

Geocache Description:

A Travel Bug rest stop!

This cache is very easy to find. A short walk in the Grande Prairie trail system will get you to the hiding spot. It is a large Rubbermaid container laying in the trees and covered by some leaves and sticks. It is meant to be an easy to reach cache, for storing Travel Bugs (TBs) that people have found on their adventures. I decided to create it when I accidentally picked up and brought home a TB destined for the ocean (Goochy), which I had know idea what to do about. Hopefully this cache will attract TB seekers who can quickly pick a bug up and help it on its way. It is also a good place to drop off TBs found elsewhere, so others can continue their journey.

There is lots of room in this cache to store stuff so don’t worry about space. You don’t need any items to trade, if your heading in a direction that could help a TB complete its goal, and plan to search out geocaches along the way, then by all means come take one and give it a lift. If your dropping off a TB from elsewhere please include a description of its mission whenever possible (at least mention it in the logbook). That way others won’t mistakenly carry it in the wrong direction as I did Goochy!

First Clients:

Jeff Gordon ‘98(Rainbow) Monte Carlo – can go anywhere
Goochy (Jellyfish) – looking for the ocean
Wyle C and the Putting Machine – needs to get to Warner Brothers Studio in the USA

Good luck and have fun! DungeonKeeper
