Geocache Description:

This is a 3-part-multi-cache where the first two stages are in a graveyard and the final cache is off some trails behind the graveyard. Help Nick Spade private eye find the lost goods before the man in the limo does.

-----------------------------------------------------------
The phone rings. You answer. The voice is your friend, who owes you money, Nick Spade. He tells you he needs you to go to the Union Cemetery in St Charles. Find the gravestone marked “Lounsbury” at these coordinates: N 41 55.779 W 088 18.651. From there you can find the next gravestone, “Johnson”, at these coordinates:
N 41 55.XYL W 088 18.XNX

To find the second gravestone:
Use Arza M’s birth year = LMNO
L = ________
M = ________
N = ________
O = ________
And Arza M’s death month = X
X = ________
Y = X + L
Y = ________

From there you can find the cache here: N 41 55.MOC W 088 18.MYC

To find the cache:
A = Carl A death year
A = ________
B = Ada E death year
B = ________
C = A - B
C = ________

“You have to help me,” he claims. You asked him how does he know all this and he said “don’t ask!” Then he told you “Please be careful. Remember, be as stealthy as you can. Often look over your shoulder to make sure you are not being followed. Double back to loose anyone on your trail.”
-----------------------------------------------------------

The cache is in the Norris Woods. I think it closes at dark. I have seen the gate closed at night.

A main trail can get you within 100 feet of the cache. The trails have signs that say no dogs. Sorry. Otherwise I think these trails are very nice. I saw a deer here the day I hid the cache.

Initial Contents:

Log entry – Late August. 3am. Insomnia. The dog days of summer were taking their toll. I was eating at The Dinner when a strange thing happened. I bit into my burger and a piece of paper slid out: cemetery midnight tomorrow. 21 hours from now. I took a quick look over the counter and into the kitchen. The cook made a very subtle nod and then went out of my view.

Log entry – The next day. 11:53am. I waited at the cemetery for 20 minutes when the limo arrived. A voice from inside told me to get in. I knew that voice. I got in and the limo drove away to a near by but secluded parking lot. I knew then I was in trouble. He wanted something I couldn’t give him. He wanted something I only knew part of where it might be. These answers were not satisfying. I was taken out of the car for further ‘questioning’.

Bruised and battered I knew I had to get out of there. When I had a chance I scrambled to my feet and took off at top speed in to the woods. Spider webs were everywhere but I didn’t care. I ran and ran. The noises behind me grew ever more faint. When I couldn’t run any more I stopped and took my shoe off. Fortunately, they didn’t look in my shoe. I hid the only puzzle piece I had out there in the woods. I hope I can find it again.
