Geocache Description:


This cache will expire 9/30/05.
This is my 1st cache placed. Park @N40 14.228 W77 33.981. From there take Spotts Rd.

This is an easy 1 mile hike or Mtn Bike ride to the cache site. Spotts Rd. was the road that was used to get to the Sherman Mtn. Forest Fire Tower. The fire tower was in operation from 1929-1976. If you look around you will see part of an old foundation. The Tuscarora Trail also meets up with Spotts Rd for a short distance.
If you do not know the roads that weave around in the Tuscarora State Forest you might want to stop at the Tuscarora State Forest District Office outside of New Germantown and pick up one of their nice maps.
Also be careful around hunting season.
