This is a 3-part math cache with a traditional cache at the final coordinates. The container is a Rubbermaid box about half the size of an ammo box; large items won't fit.
Hopefully for some this will be a "I didn't know there was a park here" experience. I grew up nearby and played in this park when it was equipped similarly to the original Launch Pad Cache and there was a big swimming pool to the south, across from Hartman School.
Have a seat at the first coordinates. Looking north, you'll see the following:
- 2 numerals on a sign, white on brown
- a 4-digit number, red on yellow
- a single digit, white on blue
Add these four figures together, then subtract 1107 to get A.
A divided by 57 = B.
A divided by 16 = C.
Subtract B from the final 3 digits of the first N coordinate to get the N coordinate for the second location.
Subtract C from the final 3 digits of the first W coordinate to get the W coordinate for the second location.
Stand at the second location and answer the question, how many total ins and outs am I standing on? That's D.
Add 2 to D and then add that total to the final 3 digits of the second N coordinate; the result is the final N coordinate.
Subtract 4 from D and subtract that total from the final 3 digits of the second W coordinate; the result is the final W coordinate.
There's paved trail up to the last 30 feet or so; the last few feet are steep enough to discourage night-time hunting for this one. Watch your last step, and be sure and re-hide the cache with materials at hand.
