Take a short break from the Grand Prix driving of Angeles Crest Highway to peer down the canyon of the West Fork of the San Gabriel River.
An Adventure Pass is NOT required. (It's a Fee Demonstration Program. See http://www.edibleplants.com/advpas.htm). However, cachers have reported being ticketed in the daytime headlight section from LaCanada Flintridge to Clear Creek.
Cache is larger than a film canister, but smaller than a baseball. It is designed as a TNLNSL sign-only or very small item trade cache. The cache guardian lies in wait for those who would muggle it. Original contents are a Log roll, pencil, plastic steer (Babe, the Blue Ox), compass zipper pull, P-38 can opener, Smokey Bear pin and a Canadian geocoin.
