Geocache Description:

Traditional cache in a spectacular setting of coastal beauty.

93 Current The cache is located on the side of the Great Orme in an area that was used as a gunnery training school during WW2. It is now a part of the Great Orme country park. The cache is a small tumbler like container, hidden near a lookout post . It contains pens, ruler, badges and fridge magnets. I will place some more items soon but this was all I had to hand. The best place to park would be in west shore,(N 53 19.220 W 003 50.620) the cache is slightly less than two miles walk from here. Follow the promenade and then Marine drive. Leave Marine drive and turn onto Llys Helig drive, this ends at a gate(N 53 19.902 W003 52.274). Use roads and paths to get to the area of the cache. When the broad paths end and give way to sheep tracks you must take great care from this point on, this section is for capable hillwalkers only.The tricky section is quite short, so the whole family (including prams) can do the main walk. If you are doing several caches in the area you may be tempted to try getting to the cache from the Marine drive as it will seem tantalisingly close, unless you are rock climbing, I would advise against it. This cache rewards you with some spectacular views, natural history and military history.
