Think you know all of the history of pre-Civil War pioneers? Think you know the hardships faced by those settling this part of the country? Think you know the role of women in taming the West? Then think again.
In a part of the country littered with historic markers and testaments to often-dubious accomplishment, this one offers a small story of a large life. A true pioneer who left England to come to Utah before the American War Between the States. She faced truly horrific hardship only to lead a life that, while controversial by most standards, was nonetheless a positive example of clean living to everyone.
To qualify as a find you must email me her name, her loss and, according to the plaque, her claim to fame.
