Geocache Description:

Obviously by the name of this cache, you will realize that the theme is CARABINERS! Those nifty little devises that are suddenly everywhere. Designed for climbers, now you can buy just about any product with a biner attached. Therefore this Biner Box is a sort of Biner exchange…please leave a biner, and swap it for another biner…There is a Carabiner TB which started at this cache and is traveling around collecting biners to bring back and deposit in this biner exchange cache!

If you take a Travel Bug from this Cache, it is REQUESTED that you leave one in its place...it makes it so much more fun for the next to visit! ThankYou! On the Isle of Prudence, set your sights for The Baker Farm Site, which contains the remains of a colonial era farm. An interesting place alone, however it is also the sight of several Benchmark Discs. The coordinates will take you there! There are several trails in from various points on the island. See map advice below. Once you locate the discs, you will need to fill in the missing numbers from the clues to get to the Carabiner Box, a short distance away, At a point where several trails come together.

FINAL LOCATION:
41° 36 37A A is filled in by the number on all 3 discs that follows the word Prudence ?

071° 1B 7CD
B is the last digit in the year stamped on the discs
C is the “tens” digit in the year stamped on the discs
D is the number of the disc located at 41° 36.467 / 071° 18 701

WORTHY SUGGESTIONS:
From the ferry dock, the cache is about a mile by the route the gull flies, further by foot…Bring a Mountain Bike! All of the trails I encountered are bikeable!

Deer Ticks are prevalent on the island; take necessary precautions…I did not encounter any on my trip, just a word to the wise.

There are NO public restrooms on the island. Women take note; last call is on the ferry!

A better island map is available for a quarter at the little store at the ferry dock; this map also has some clues as to how to get to the farm. But you can also get a map at this link: (visit link) it just isn’t all that clear. There is also other interesting info at this web site regarding the island.

The island has the densest WhiteTail Deer population in RI. I saw several while on the hide, see Picture.

Ferry Schedule: (visit link)

Cache is a drab ammo box, it contains an assortment of carabiners, and a log book with writing implements.

Good Luck
