Paperback Book Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Paperback Book Cache to find out about the status of this cache on GCGTDC. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Yup, that’s right, it’s the FOS Paperback Book Cache! We’ve hidden a Rubbermaid container full of paperback books out in the woods. So bring along one of your favorite paperbacks and swap it out. We're hoping to keep it full of good books, so bring one that you've read and tell us a little about your book and why you liked it. The books we have in there right now are:

- The Sierra Club Wilderness Guide
- The Mosquito Coast, by Paul Theroux - Much better than the movie. It starts out good, and get's great by the end.
- Lucifer’s Hammer, by Larry Niven - A scifi book about a comet hitting the earth. Pretty good stuff.
- The Children of Men, by P.D. James - Didn't read this one, but my mother really liked it.
- Mr. X, by Peter Straub - OK horror novel from one of the guys who isn't Stephen King.
- House of Smoke by J. F. Freedman - A pretty good murder mystery with a female private eye protagonist.
- The Cobweb, by Stephen Bury - A mystery book involving Iowans and Iraq that takes place right before the first Gulf war. The author is the pseudonym of the hip cyberpunk author Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon) and his uncle.
- The Holy Bible, by God - The Good Book. 'Nuff said. Check out the Official Flock of Seagull's verse, Psalm 104:12.
- Uncle John’s 2nd Bathroom Reader - Great trivia and information in 1 or 2 page chunks. Entertaining and informational.
- Clifford’s Bath Time - Didn't read this one, but it appears to be about a large red dog who has an appointment with the bath.
- I can go to Preschool
- Big Bird’s Color Game
- Leopold Frog

We need more books for the 8-12 group, so bring those along. All the books are in Ziploc bags, so please put yours in a bag when you put it in the container.

There are many nice spots to read and have a picnic near the cache, so you may want to include that in your plans.

Thanks, and enjoy!
