This expansive 1,080.36-acre scenic park is located 3-miles west of I-95 along SR 520. The hardwood hammock, pastureland, prairie and wetland ecosystems inspire nature and wildlife enthusiasts, while the park amenities invite group activities. With a view toward a small nature lake, the large pavilion with a kitchen seats up to 600 people, and 2 small pavilions beside a larger lake are near a playground and restrooms. Individual picnic tables are also situated around the lake, with volleyball and horseshoe facilities nearby.
The large lake features a natural canoe launch and fishing is welcomed there and in the tributaries, although swimming is not allowed. On the south side of the lake is a rustic tent camping site and 1-mile woodland nature trail, while another .25-nature trail with botannical markers is located near the large pavilion.Take a short stroll down the nature trail and soak up the quiet beauty of this park.
The cache container is a camouflaged ammo box with a decent assortment of geo-stuff in it. It is located slightly off the main trail, but no bushwhacking is required. Insect repellent is definitely suggested. When I placed this cache, the cache area was fairly dry, but could be damp depending on conditions. This is a beautiful park that gives you countless opportunities to appreciate Florida nature and wildlife. Don't forget to do the other caches in this spacious park.
