In this Cemetery you will find Manuel King (1829-1864) One out of 170 who were killed or missing in the explosion of the steamboat Washoe in Rio Vista. Also Peter McCabe (1833-1863) Native of Co. Monaghan, Ireland. Killed in a Wagon accident on the road between Jackson and Ione. His epitath reads
How strange oh God that reigns on high
That I should come so far to die;
And leave my friends where I was bred~
To lay my bones whith strangers died.
But I have hopes when I arise~
To dwell with them in yonder skeys.
