A stroll along the Cuyahoga River in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
This cache is in Babb Run Park in Cuyahoga Falls.
Babb Run Park is mostly a run-off gorge with some steep hills, so the difficulty of the terrain is fairly high given that all the paths are either paved or very clear. It might not be a hike for very small children and is definitely not wheelchair accessible, but it's a really nice trek along the Cuyahoga River, so plan accordingly.
It's called the Malodorous Riverwalk because to get to the trails, you must pass a small part of the sewer system that runs through the park and sometimes it can be a bit "fragrant." Once you pass it and get to the trails the smell is no longer there. It's not really a big deal, but it does makes for a cool name. :)
**** WARNING ****
The Cuyahoga Falls park system has closed off the roads to the park. There is parking available across the street from the main entrance. An alternate entrance can be found at N41 07.571 W81 30.981. It is also closed off to cars, but it is a short walk from the street into the park. There is no way to know for sure when the entrances will be opened again. You have been warned!
The cache is an ammo can with a custom camoflage paint job...it's purty.
This cache is not on Summit County Metro Parks property because they do not allow geocaching in their parks. They are mean.
This park seems to be pretty low on the City of Cuyahoga Falls list of priorities, so PLEASE cache in, trash out! There are also quite a few downed trees across the paths, so the terrain rating has been raised to 2.5.
One final hint: If you find yourself staring down a cliff to the cache location, you are going about this THE WRONG WAY!
