It's a get-together for geocachers throughout the area. Time to put some faces to the names around the region!
The Event Date: October 19, 2003
The Event Time: 1:00 pm - about 5 pm
The place will be Oak Mountain State Park, at the "Cardinal" pavillion. The time is 1pm, and subject to change! More details to come as they are firmed up. We look forward to meeting any and all who want to attend!
Planned events & activities (Subject to change):
- Plenty of food -- Potluck! Please plan on bringing a covered dish! We will also have some hotdogs from the grill for the short, picky folks (kids) and even the taller ones.
- A "group cache search" if anyone is new and/or wants to learn more about the sport of geocaching, now you can see it done and learn more about it
- Kids cache near the party area.
- Travel Bug trading table
- Door prizes to give away. If you would like to donate an item, please let us know & bring it with you when you come!
- "Ready-made cache" giveaway! Everyone bring a trade item of the calibre you would like to see in a cache. They will all be placed in a container, and we'll be giving it away before the end of the day!
Directions:
From I-65, take the Highway 119 exit (Oak Mountain) and follow the signs for Oak Mountain State Park. You can stop at the main information building (just before you enter the park's gate) for a park map if you wish. We will be at the "Cardinal" pavillion in Picnic Area 1 (near the beach) and if you want to come a bit early & do some caching, feel free!
