Nice short walk from the parking lot just off I-40. Easy to find micro. Bring your own pencil to sign the logbook.
This is one of Texas' new themed rest areas. This particular one has a Route 66 theme; the walkways even have a center stripe. There is a wonderful play area on a soft surface for you who have kids along. Next to the playground is a large circular timeline which is divided into decades. If you have time take a look at it. There's some interesting information. There's even a tornado shelter inside the main building along with a Route 66 historical display.
