A Titan II ICBM silo gets a new lease on life.
One of the 18 Titan II missile sites that ringed Tucson, Arizona until they were decommissioned in the 1980's. Many were sold to private parties. This one has a fascinatingly ironic new use. Very little remains on the surface since it has mostly been paved over. Check out my other cache (DEFCON 1) to see a better preserved site. The concrete circle near the cache site is a hardened antenna silo. If you proceed 200 feet from the cache site on a heading of about 180 Degrees, you will find the escape hatch. This is all I've been able to find of the original site. The silo is under the parking lot. Initial contents of the cache are a pen topper, Maine quarter, piece of red glass, two small polished stones, and a lanyard. The cache is creatively camouflaged. Be sure to replace it exactly as you found it without being seen.
"And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their SWORDS INTO PLOWSHARES, and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."
-Isaiah 2:4
