This cache is set in one of Melbourne's inner city parks.
The park in which this cache is set used to be the end of a small branch railway line. There are still signs nearby of its previous existence, including a couple of small sections of rails. When the cache was initially set up, there used to be a disused pedestrian overpass where the station used to be. However, it disappeared with the new residential development.
The branch line came off the Inner Circle Rail Line, now also disused. Both have been converted into Railtrails for walking or cycling.
At the posted co-ordinates, there used to be a wooden statue of Queen Victoria. The statue itself disappeared many years ago, leaving just the base. On the base is a plaque detailing the year in which the statue was presented to the citizens of Fitzroy. This year is abcd.
