Gemma's Bluebell Run is dedicated to the memory of Gemma our Border Collie, who passed away at the ripe old age of 16. She always liked to run and play (and bark a lot) in this lovely woodland. The best time to see this wood is in May, when all the Bluebells are in their full splendour. A sea of blue as far as the eye can see. The easist way to find Bake Woods is from the A38. From Trerulefoot roundabout take the turning to Bake and Catchfrench, then follow the signs to Bake Sawmills. Just before this there is a place to park at N.50.24.121 W.004.21.90. The woods are entered via a public footpath which is not far from where you park. The path runs along a field and drops down to the woods. Once in the woods you can stay on the main pathway, but be careful here the first 400yds or so in winter can get really muddy and wet so take you're wellies with you.
The cache itself is a LARGE 7ltr container, so lots of room for bigger items if you wish. We have hidden the cache basically on the main pathway, so there is no need to wonder of this path. Although there is heavy tree cover, our G.P.S was fine and the walk itself should take no longer than twenty-thirty minuites, depending on you're agility of course. If you follow on from the cache, and you time it right, you can make you're way to the village of Hessenford and a nice pub lunch and a pint or two! Just remember it's all up hill on the way back and it is quite steep in places, so don't drink too much. Have fun. EXTRA CLUE .. seeing as there may be some problems with gps signal , i have put in an extra clue ... see below
