Geocache Description:

On the way to the top of Mauna Kea, near the visitor center.

The cache is at an altitude of 9500 feet (2900 m). Please try and pick up any trash you see as this is a beautiful site and we would like to see it preserved.

The road to the prize is a few hundred feet before the visitor center. The short road to the cache trailhead is a bit rough, but a Ford Focus has been known to make it there. :-) There is a power transmission station where you will most likely park.

The tough terrain rating is due to the altitude and steepness of the trail. The path is wide and clear, just take your time and go slowly. Drink plenty of water, because it can be quite low humidity.

It can be cool up there, take a jacket if you have one!
