No, I thought you did!
Yes, it was true, after planning and carrying out a daring expedition across the waterways of Connecticut, the terrible truth was revealed: we forgot the logbook and geocaching letter on the kitchen counter. Which explains why we named this cache after a pair of famous pop-culture knuckleheads.
Everything was going great ... I bought a spiffy new kayak, Laxboy picked me up in his truck and we eagerly dashed down the highway (a little too quickly as it turned out). We put our kayaks in the river at Smith Landing in Old Lyme (N41°17.239' W72°19.447') and had a beautiful 1.2 mile paddle to a small island with some granite ledges and a few oak trees crowning its small elevation. We heaved ourselves ashore on the north side of the island (which we recommend, as a highly predominant vegetation on this piece of paradise is a certain three leaved plant that makes many humans itch). After some scouting around, we found a great, dry spot. It was not even touched by the recent storm tides associated with Hurricane Isabel. We were really pumped up and happy when the pictures found below were taken. Then we discovered our little logbook problem. We will try to rectify it soon, but if you are the first finder and get back here before we do, we suggest (request, entreat, beg) that you bring a log book and the geocaching letter to leave in our lovely tupperware container. Oh, we also forgot the pencil!
