Geocache Description:

Cache is located at River Ridge Park (Franklin County/Sebastian County), US Army Corps of Engineers.

This cache is named for the first county seat of Crawford County. The original historical sign is no longer standing due to vandalism. The Corps of Engineers has the plaque, which I was allowed to take a picture of, the inscription reads as follows:

Crawford County
First County Seat

The first county seat of Crawford County, known as "Old Crawford Court House" was established in 1820, near the house of John Jay, on the South side of the Arkansas River. Crawford County was named in honor of William H. Crawford, U.S. Secretary of War in 1815.

The cache container is covered in camo tape and medium in size. Have fun and be safe. Thanks & Happy Caching.
