Niguel Botanical Preserve Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Road2Ruin: I decided to archive this cache because the hiding spot is just too compromised for replacement of the cache. Look for a new version of Niguel Botanical Preserve coming soon.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Crown Valley Community Park in Laguna Niguel. The terrain is generally a level 1.5, but, depending on which path you take, it could be a level 2. It is mostly uphill all the way to the cache.

To reach this cache you will take a walk through the Niguel Botanical Preserve, a rustic area comprised of a mixture of trails. Some trails are paved, some are packed dirt and others are stairs made from railroad ties. The Preserve has been an ongoing project for several years, developed when funds and volunteers are available. Much has been done by local Eagle Scouts, especially the building and placing of several benches in shady spots.

No bushwhacking will be needed; the cache has been placed in a non-sensitive area just beyond the Preserve.

The container is a small ammo can that has been camouflaged to blend with its surroundings. Please replace it just the way it was stashed and arrange the foliage to add cover. You will know what to do when you see it.

Sit on a bench and enjoy the wildlife. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

11-04-03 I checked on the cache this morning and the swag is clean, dry and in great shape. As of today, the inventory consists of:

1 new dog ball, 1 golf ball,
1 launch-type spring toy, 1 unused gift bag,
1 new watch--boxed, 1 pair new shoe laces,
2 beaded bracelets, 1 dinosaur keychain
1 slide puzzle, 1 VW bug key ring
1 new pair No Nonsense knee-highs

log book, pen

Just a couple of notes about the cache site--- to retrieve the cache you do not need to step into any foliage or move any major parts of the terrain. Look for a clear route and make the reach! Also, note the camouflage on the container and its relation to the stash site. The box should be rehidden in a manner that is consistant with the surrounding coloring.

Thanks!
